(KSL News) A Salt Lake County woman is in the hospital tonight following a domestic dispute.

Lt. Paul Jaroscak with the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office said around 8 p.m. deputies were called to a shooting at the Sandpiper Apartments at 1370 E. Spring Lane, which is about 5000 South.

He says a husband and wife got into a dispute, the wife got in her car to leave, and the husband allegedly fired 10 rounds at her with a .45 caliber handgun. She was shot once in the leg and taken to the hospital. Her injury is not life-threatening.

Jaroscak says when the man stopped firing, an unarmed security guard tackled him and held him for law enforcement agents. The suspect's name was not immediately released.
