(KSL News) The latest housing numbers are out this morning, and the nation's housing crisis is far from over.

Filings in August increased 27 percent compared to last year, and nationwide nearly 400,000 homes received one notice of foreclosure. That's nearly one in every 400 homes. Experts say that's the highest number of foreclosures on record.

Utah's foreclosure rates are among the worst in the nation. Utah came in 12th nationwide for foreclosure filings last month with one in every 559 Utah households receiving a foreclosure notice.

The Deseret News reports that makes for an 85 percent increase from August of 2007.
