(KSL News) The highway patrol credits four quick-thinking and quick-acting motorists with saving a man's life this evening.

A traffic camera shows the accident on I-15 and about 7200 South. The driver of a semi truck lost control and slammed his rig into the inside barrier of the freeway. It slid down the barrier for more than 300 feet and caught fire.

Three men and a woman stopped their cars and were able to get the driver out of the burning vehicle. He was unconscious on the floor of the truck's cab.

Sgt. Robert Nixon, with the Utah Highway Patrol, said, "We feel that what these people did was extremely heroic and that they saved a man's life today, no question in my mind."

Troopers got the names of three of the people who stopped, but still want to get the name of one of the men so they can recognize them all.

The trucker was treated for minor injuries.

An investigation of the accident is still underway.
