(KSL News and AP) Police in Flagstaff, Ariz. say the lone survivor of a medical helicopter crash passed away today.

Survivor of fatal helicopter collision dies

James Taylor, 36, from Salt Lake City was working as a flight nurse in Arizona on Sunday.

The two medical helicopters collided in mid-air near Flagstaff Sunday afternoon as they were flying near a hospital. Six people on board were killed, while Taylor was critically injured.

The lead official investigating the fatal crash says he'll have a report ready sometime next week.

One of the helicopters was operated by Air Methods from Englewood, Colo., and the other was from Classic Helicopters of Woods Cross, Utah.

The investigator said his team continues to look at surveillance video, and conduct interviews with witnesses and hospital staff to determine what happened before the choppers collided.
