(KSL News) Is Utah creating a public safety problem by issuing so many concealed weapons permits to people who live out of state? That is a question debated at the state Capitol today.
Utah will likely issue 40,000 permits this year. That's an increase of 150 percent over last year, and nearly half of those permits went to people who don't live in Utah.
Gov. Jon Huntsman has weighed in by asking the Utah Department of Public Safety to clarify the law.
Steven Gunn, with the Utah Gun Violence Prevention Campaign, and Clark Aposhian, with the Utah Shooting Sports Council, joined us to discuss this issue in tonight's Talking Point.
