CEDAR CITY — Six days after an alleged assault on a woman on high school grounds, a man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Sunday, Cedar City police received report of a sexual assault against a woman. Police said she had arrived at the home of Brady Matheson, 27, and as she approached the house, he took her car keys from her and pulled her down the street.
The woman fought back and attempted to flee, police reported, but Matheson pulled her to a nearby high school.
It was at the high school grounds where Matheson allegedly physically and sexually assaulted the woman, who eventually managed to flee.
Matheson was reported as the attacker at the time of police dispatch. Police "attempted to get him to turn himself in," according to a press release, but he refused.
Police were able to gather enough evidence to book Matheson in the Iron County Correctional Facility on suspicion of aggravated kidnapping, forcible sexual abuse, object rape and misdemeanor assault.
