ROY — What would you think if you saw a truck from a company you know and trust pull up, and then you witnessed the driver get out and steal something? One Salt Lake car dealer doesn't like it, either.
Somebody is using an old Ken Garff work truck to steal metal and haul it away.
Roy 66 Service owner Jason Ohlin supplied KSL with surveillance video that caught the thief in the act.
Ohlin said the thief took five to eight radiators on June 1.
"It's frustrating to see someone fairly blatantly just pulling metal off the back of that service station," said Ken Garff Automotive Group spokesperson Matt Jensen.
Jensen said the company had fielded several other calls in recent months about a Garff work truck showing up in suspicious places or doing suspicious things.
"It's incredibly frustrating," Jensen said. "We work really hard to improve our brand and improve our credibility to show the public the good things we're trying to do in this industry."

Garff officials have been able to determine that the suspicious vehicle was one of their parts trucks years ago. It was totaled and sent to a salvage yard for scrap.
Instead, Jensen said, the truck was purchased whole and — by its appearance in the surveillance video — has been restored.
"We've been working with the licensing division, with the police to try to find it, but the car was registered under a fake name and address," Jensen said.
Nobody knows what the current license plate number is on the Ford F-150 pickup, but Jensen and Ohlin said their hopes were that the surveillance video would lead to somebody recognizing the vehicle.
Roy Police spokesperson Anna Bond said the investigation into the theft remained open.
"We hope he gets caught one way or the other — whether he turns himself in or the police track him down or that he wises up and spray paints over it so it doesn't track back to us," Jensen said with a laugh. "But of course we want him tracked down. We don't want this happening."
