CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) -- A man charged with twice shooting a Cedar City police officer with a 12-gauge shotgun wants a judge to suppress some of the evidence in his trial.
An attorney for Bryan Featherhat filed court papers Monday asking a judge to eliminate a video-taped interview conducted by police and items taken from Featherhat's parent's home.
Attorney Jack Burns says both were done before police obtained a search warrant -- something Featherhat's family requested.
The evidence includes a 20-gauge shotgun, some 12-gauge shotgun shells and empty alcohol containers.
Featherhat is charged with first-degree attempted aggravated murder, aggravated robbery and theft charges in the January 2007 shooting of K-9 officers Jason Thomas.
