SALT LAKE CITY — There are two big names who have come together to form a sports power couple: Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn. The couple announced their relationship in a different way for the rich and famous, but a regular way for the rest of us: Facebook.

The two had been big winners lately. Vonn actually won a World Cup Downhill title, despite a bad knee injury. Woods has been continuing his comeback from a few years ago and has won two tournaments this year.

However, this is the biggest news for either of them in the past little while. They released a statement on their Facebook pages to announce that they were now in fact a couple. Although it does seem curious that neither relationship status has changed.

"I guess it wasn't a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods," Vonn said on her Facebook page. "Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over these past few months and it has made me very happy. I don't plan on addressing this further as I would like to keep that part of my life between us, my family and close friends. Thank you for understanding and your continued support! xo LV"

Woods released his own version, but has the same message for privacy and gratefulness for each other.

"This season has been great so far and I'm happy with my wins at Torrey and Doral. Something nice that's happened off the course was meeting Lindsey Vonn. Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating. We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy. We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes."

It has to be hard to date in the public eye, so good for them for finding someone. Hopefully they can both continue to produce at a high level and enjoy life out of sports.

Hopefully there can be a nickname that comes out of this. Vonger or Vonn Woods, Tigsey or maybe TigVonn. Then again, maybe there shouldn't be one.

Late entries, or winners, include Liger and TiVo.

LeBron versus DeAndre Jordan in the dunk of the year:

By now everyone has seen the DeAndre Jordan destruction of Brandon Knight from a week ago. The dunk that stopped Twitter and started Internet memes everywhere. If somehow you missed, it's here on the page.

It was a lock for dunk of the year, until LeBron James decided to give it some competition. During the Miami Heat's 23rd-straight victory, this time over the Boston Celtics, James dunked over and through Jason Terry.

Which one is better? Time to look at the tape to decide.

First off, according to Wikipedia, both Terry and Knight were killed by their dunk, so that one evens out.

James is 6'8" and 250 lbs. Jordan is 6'11" and 265lbs. The edge would probably go to Jordan, actually; big men aren't normally great dunkers.

Terry is 6'2" and 180 lbs. Knight is 6'3" and 189 lbs. Basically a push, but maybe a slight edge to Jordan on this one.

Terry was actually in position as James jumped over him, while Knight was sliding over to get to Jordan. However, Knight made a "block attempt" as Terry just sort of jumped. Probably a push.

James jumped from the dotted circle to catch the alley-oop, while Jordan jumped from just outside the restricted area. Advantage James.

James got a tech for staring down Terry afterward, while Jordan had that little kid doing some funky dance — almost mooning the game. Advantage Jordan.

#poll

This could go on for hours: Jordan had Chris Paul throwing the lob, while James had Mario Chalmers, but all in all this was close. It's probably a slight edge to Jordan for doing it first. But either way, they both know they did something special. Here is Jordan's response tweet to James' dunk.

hmmm touché sir...touché. lol — DeAndre Jordan (@deandrejordan) March 19, 2013

Enjoy them both, and let us know which one was better in the poll.

Bad moments in coaching:

There have been some really great coaches that inspire their players to greatness. Then there are the coaches that simply lose it. Here is to the ones that lost it.

The main part of this story comes from a Yahoo! Minute article, where they take a look at a sports video that might be lesser known and break it down.

This video comes because of a French basketball coach being dumb. With the game tied and the clock winding down to zero, the French coach was on his feet near the action, then decided he wanted in and tried to steal the ball from the opponents. He actually touched the ball, and that isn't legal.

The touch resulted in a technical with 0.8 left on the clock. The opposing team sank both and won the game. It was a bad moment in coaching, but it might not be the worst.

Frankly, it will be harder to find anything more stupid than Woody Hayes punch Charlie Bauman late in the 1978 Gator Bowl. Bauman intercepted the ball late in the game and it ends up on the Ohio State sideline.

Legendary Buckeye coach Hayes picks up Bauman from Clemson and winds back and punches him, right in the pads. He was wearing pads, so it probably didn't do much, but it was still a dumb idea. It is a scene straight out of "Friday Night Lights."

Other bad coaching decisions are out there: Bobby Knight coaching anything will produce some, and coaches interfering with live plays are others. Look around and leave a comment for any more interesting bad moments in coaching.
