SALT LAKE CITY — Police are looking for a single suspect in three separate armed robberies at gas stations on Christmas Eve.
The first robbery occurred at 7:14 p.m. at the 7-Eleven at 705 E. 3rd Avenue. The second occurred at 7:33 p.m. at the 7-Eleven at 309 E. 400 South.
The third occurred at 8 p.m. at the Tesoro at 874 E. 1300 South. The suspect produced a handgun and demanded money at all three locations, according to Lt. Carl Nerino with the Salt Lake City Police Department. During the third robbery, a customer intervened.
"A customer was in the store and confronted the guy, and the suspect left the store," Nerino said. "It was just a matter of seconds."
The suspect is described as a 6-foot-tall white male, thin build, in his 20s or 30s and wearing a black hoodie, black mask and black gloves. Anyone who may have information on the crimes can call the Salt Lake City Police Department at 801-799-3000.
