(KSL News) Granite School District teens who play sports may soon have to take random drug and alcohol tests.
The Deseret Morning News reports the Board of Education has given initial approval to a program that includes non-invasive drug and alcohol screenings for student athletes. Officials say the idea is to give students extra tools to say no to illegal substances.
The program would be funded with a $1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
