SALT LAKE CITY -- A woman ran to the aid of a drunk driver after the driver struck her vehicle, charges state.
Charges filed in the 3rd District Court Tuesday state the woman was stopped at a traffic light at Highland Drive and Sugarmont Avenue when a 56-year-old female driver reversed onto Highland Drive and struck the woman's vehicle, charges state.
The 56-year-old's car then drifted down Highland Drive and onto a curb. The woman whose car was struck ran to the other car, pulled its emergency brake and removed the keys from the ignition, charges state. The 56-year-old driver was unresponsive and drifted in and out of consciousness.
The 56-year-old's driver's license was suspended and a blood alcohol test indicated she was drunk, charges state.
She was charged with driving under the influence, a third-degree felony; and driving as an alcohol-restricted driver and driving on a suspended license, both class B misdemeanors.
