GRANTSVILLE -- Police are investigating a possible kidnapping that started in Midvale and ended in Tooele County.
Friday afternoon, emergency dispatchers received a medical call from a home near 800 N. Cooley Street in Grantsville. They also received several calls of shots fired.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man who told them that several people had kidnapped him from the Motel 6 at 7263 S. Catalpa St. in Midvale. He said they brought him to this area in Grantsville and told him they were going to kill him.
"They took him out of the vehicle to shoot him, and he escaped by running. They fired several shots at him, and he was not hit," said Grantsville Police Chief Dan Johnson.
The man managed to reach a nearby home, where the homeowner called police.
Police do have persons of interest in this case. They are also looking for a white Mazda Topaz and a silver Chevy Malibu.
The victim told police this incident is related to something that happened back in Cottonwood Heights, but we don't have any information on what that incident is.
Meanwhile, Grantsville police say they may release more information about the people they're looking for some time Friday night.
