Alex Cabrero Reporting Police tonight have solved the case of the missing skis. They've been investigating for months, and they found what they were looking for tonight, in a Murray storage unit.

On one of the hottest days of the year, it's a little odd to see so many skis, but it's exactly what detectives wanted to see.

Det. Corbett Ford, with the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office, said, "Nothing better than to open a door and see a ton of property there instead of an empty unit. So you know, it was great."

Earlier this month, two guys broke into the storage unit and found all the skis, poles and boots. They belonged to a ski distributor in Cottonwood Heights, and they aren't cheap.

"These are high end skis. I mean, each one of these retails for close to $1,000, $800 to $1,000," Det. Ford said.

The street crimes unit of Salt Lake County Sheriff's office in Cottonwood Heights' police department began working on the case. Through some tips, they found one thief in St. George last night. That led them to a second suspect today, and to the storage unit in Murray.

"This is definitely a good thing, it's exciting when you can recover someone's personal property," Det. Ford says.

The two men arrested are 35-year-old Noah Person and 25-year-old, Jared Eskelsen.

The equipment will be returned to the distributor. We're told 46 skis were found, which is only about half of the missing equipment, but half is certainly better than none.
