Marc Giauque, KSL Newsradio Police in Ogden say they're dealing with an upsurge in daytime burglaries, and analysts say they're not alone.
Police say they've arrested several people, mostly juveniles, who've had the same M.O. "They have one individual who will go up to the door, knock on the door. If somebody does happen to answer they'll think up some excuse, ask for somebody, you know just throw out a name to see if they live there. If nobody does answer, they'll keep a couple people out front as lookout," says Detective Robert Buck.
Buck says they'll then force entry into the back, and load up with jewelry, electronics, even guns--which he says obviously raises a concern. Police say right now, more daytime burglaries are happening across the nation. Buck thinks that may be simply because people are spending less time at home.
