KAMAS -- A five-vehicle crash near Kamas killed one man Saturday.

Cameron Roden with the Utah Highway Patrol says a Dodge Caravan was stopped on State Road 150 about six miles east of Kamas just before 12:30 p.m. The driver of a Chevrolet TrailBlazer couldn't stop in time and slammed into the van - forcing into a pickup truck ahead of both cars.

Roden says the impact of the crash sent the TrailBlazer into oncoming traffic. A motorcycle carrying two passengers struck the TrailBlazer. The driver of a second motorcycle was forced to lay down the bike.

The driver of the first motorcycle, a 53-year-old man, died at the scene. The three other riders involved were all injured. Two of the riders, a 53-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman, were flown to the hospital. The other, a 50-year-old woman, was transported by ambulance.

None of the passengers in the cars were injured.

Crews closed the road for more than an hour to clean up the wreckage. An investigation into the crash is underway.
