The Coconino County, Ariz., Sheriff's Department said 32-year-old Michael Allen from Ogden died Wednesday when he jumped into a natural pool at the top of Mooney Falls, got caught in the current and fell over the falls for a distance of approximately 200 feet.

Allen was on a camping trip with family members and friends near Havasupai Canyon. Mooney Falls is in the Havasupai Canyon, which is part of the Grand Canyon National Park.

Officials are investigating the possibility that Allen might have become unconscious while in the pool or became tangled in some debris under the water.

Sheriff's detectives and the Coconino County medical examiner are investigating the incident.
