WEST VALLEY CITY -- A woman accused in a gang killing at a West Valley City golf course will spend at least 15 years behind bars.
As part of a plea deal, Shardise Malaga pleaded guilty to manslaughter and aggravated kidnapping.
Monday, a judge sentenced her to a minimum of 15 years at the Utah State Prison. After that, the parole board will decide if she'll stay behind bars.
Malaga was 19 last February when prosecutors say her 14-year-old cousin, Antonie Farani, shot JoJo Brandstatt for wearing a rival gang color. Farani and two others face trials for their roles in the killing.
