UTAH COUNTY -- A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Sunday in Utah County during a ride for charity.

According to the Utah County Sheriff's Office, 43-year-old Brian Morris of Orem was participating in the "Polar Bear Ride" with a group of other motorcyclists when he and another rider crashed into each other near 100 North on SR-73. Morris died from his injuries.

Morris' mother, 63-year-old Sandra Morris, was riding on the back of the motorcycle with him. She sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. The rider on the other motorcycle, 69-year-old Bert Weaver of Roy, was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Their injuries are not life-threatening.

Deputies say neither the victim nor his mother were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

The riders were all members of the Salt Lake Motorcycle Club. The "Polar Bear Ride" benefits local charities.
