MIAMI (AP) — The Cleveland Cavaliers are already addressing how they'll proceed without center Anderson Varejao for the rest of the season.
Cavs coach David Blatt says the team will likely use a variety of lineups based on matchups in the short-term to replace Varejao, who tore his left Achilles on Tuesday night and will need surgery.
That could mean playing LeBron James and Shawn Marion more at the power-forward spot, and giving Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson more time at center while seeking a permanent solution.
The Cavs were visiting Miami on Thursday, the comeback game for James to the arena that he called home the previous four seasons when he starred with the Heat.
