IRVINE, Calif. (AP) — The Los Angeles Rams have terminated the contract of defensive lineman Quinton Coples while trimming their roster down to 75 players.

The Rams announced several personnel moves Tuesday.

Coples signed a two-year deal with the Rams in March after the former first-round pick spent his first four NFL seasons mostly with the New York Jets.

The Rams initially signed Coples to play defensive end, but moved him to defensive tackle during training camp. He forced two fumbles and made a sack in an exhibition win over Kansas City earlier this month.

But coach Jeff Fisher says he didn't see Coples making the roster for the Rams, who have one of the NFL's best defensive lines.

Los Angeles also waived 14 players, including safety Jordan Lomax and tight end Jake Stoneburner.
