STOCKHOLM (AP) - A protester threw a cake in the face of a far-right Swedish politician during a book-signing event in Stockholm.

Police say Jimmie Akesson, the leader of the anti-immigration Sweden Democrats, was not injured in Tuesday's incident. Police spokesman Albin Naverberg says Akesson was signing copies of his new book when a woman approached him and threw a cake in his face. She was detained by police as guards whisked away the 34-year-old Akesson.

Naverberg said the woman could face a harassment charge.

Akesson led the Sweden Democrats into parliament for the first time in 2010. But his party is deeply unpopular in parts of the capital, including the hipster neighborhood where he was signing books.
