OREM — Multiple firefighters from Orem and Pleasant Grove spent Tuesday evening fighting a large house fire at a 27,000-square-foot home in Orem.

Flames and smoke from the fire could be seen from miles away.

The fire occurred at a large home near 450 E. 1450 North. It began in the early evening and firefighters were still battling the blaze at 10 p.m., said Orem Deputy Fire Chief Shaun Hirst.

The house was unoccupied and no injuries were reported, he said. Investigators planned to begin investigating the cause of the fire once they are able to extinguish it.

All Orem fire units and two units from Pleasant Grove responded to the fire.
