SANTAQUIN — While much of Utah was getting slammed with wet weather Monday, first came the wind. And in some more rural areas, when the wind rolls in, so do the tumbleweeds.
Santaquin resident Ben Godfrey witnessed what he called a "tumbleweed stampede" from his home Monday afternoon, and he sent a video of the noxious rollers to KSL.com for all to see.
"We get a lot of wind down here regularly, and today was particularly more windy than usual," Godfrey said.
And it wasn't just Godfrey's eyes that confirmed this fact. According to the National Weather Service, peak winds reached up to 75 miles per hour in the state.

"After one loud gust, I looked out to see what looked like the whole field moving toward me," he said. "I hadn't seen so many tumbleweeds before. It was kind of comical seeing them moving, and cars stopping to let them pass."
Because a tumbleweed must go where a tumbleweed goes, and where that is nobody knows.
Probably stuck in a fence until next time, amiright?
