KAYSVILLE — A crash between a passenger vehicle and two motorcycles left one man dead and a woman with serious injuries Wednesday evening.

Two motorcyclists were driving separately southbound on U.S. 89 at Crestwood Road in Kaysville, according to a statement from Utah Highway Patrol. The driver of the passenger vehicle was traveling in the left northbound lane on state Route 89 when they made a left turn, cutting directly in front of the two motorcycles and hitting both riders.

UHP Sgt. Nick Street said the man died at the scene from his injuries. The woman was driven to the hospital in an ambulance in serious condition. Street said she is expected to recover.

The driver of the car was not injured.

Southbound U.S. 89 at Crestwood was closed because of the crash as of 10 p.m. Wednesday night. The Utah Department of Transportation estimated it would reopen around 11 p.m.
