SANDY — Authorities say a body has been found in a Sandy home that was damaged in a fire early Friday morning.

The body was identified as that of Tracy Shumway, 54.

Officials are investigating the blaze at 1572 E. Hidden Valley Drive as an arson, according to Sandy Police Sgt. Jason Nielsen. The fire started about 3:30 a.m. Friday, according to Sandy Fire Chief Bruce Cline.

The floor of the home collapsed as a result of the fire, officials said. Fire officials initially said there were no injuries in the fire, but later said the body was found inside the home.

Police are not looking for any suspects in connection with the fire as of Friday evening.

Nielsen did not say why the fire was being investigated as arson.

No further details about the fire were immediately available.
