SALT LAKE CITY — A head-on collision with a student driver sent three people to an area hospital Saturday evening, police said.

A red minivan was traveling south on 3200 West when it collided head-on with a truck traveling in the opposite direction near 2100 South, Salt Lake Police Lt. Victor Siebeneck said.

One juvenile was ejected from the vehicle and transported to Primary Children's Hospital in stable condition. Two adults were extricated from the van and taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

The truck driver was a student driver, and the instructor was riding in the passenger seat. Neither were injured in the accident.

Officers did not immediately release names of the occupants. The westbound on-ramp to state Route 201 at 3230 West was closed while crews investigated the crash.
