PROVO — The investigation into the death of a Provo man whose body was found near railroad tracks inside a transient camp continued Tuesday.
The body of Ammon Brown, 24, was taken to the Utah State Medical Examiner's Office to determine an exact cause of death.
Just after 4 p.m. Monday, a passer-by found Brown's body near 1600 S. State in Provo. He had suffered "injuries on his head, neck and face, suggest(ing) that he died of foul play of some kind," police said Monday.
Brown was charged in September with having an open container of alcohol in a park and driving on a suspended license, according to court records. He pleaded no contest to interfering with an arresting officer and assault in 2015 and was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation as part of his probation, court records state.
He was convicted of making a threat of violence in 2014. He had an outstanding warrant for illegally carrying a concealed weapon in 2013 and failing to show up for court, court records state.
