SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake police are asking the public for help in the case of a woman missing since 2002.
New information prompted investigators to reopen the case of Aletha Jo Williams, according to the Salt Lake City Police Department.
Williams was 25 years old at the time of her disappearance. Her family reported her missing in May 2002. It had been two months since their last contact with her, which wasn’t unusual behavior for Williams, they said.
Williams was last seen March 6, 2002, at approximately 1700 S. West Temple. She dropped her belongings off at a family member’s house and said she would return, but she didn't.
Police want Williams' friends and acquaintances to come forward and talk with them.
