SANDY — The South Towne Expo Center was a busy place Thursday, as automobile companies from all over the world began bringing in their latest models to put on display for the Utah International Auto Expo. The show opens to the public Friday, but KSL got a sneak peek.
So what's new at this year's expo? The vehicles, for sure. The 2013 models are ready to be seen and, in some cases, driven. This year, the show will have several opportunities for the public to take a number of vehicles for a test drive.
When:
- Friday, Jan. 13: 11 a.m. - 10 p.m.
- Saturday, Jan. 14: 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.
- Sunday, Jan. 15: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
- Monday, Jan. 16: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
- South Towne Expo Center
- 9575 South State Street, Sandy
Also brand new this year is a place called "Camp Jeep." For those who want to take a ride but stay indoors, Camp Jeep features an interactive test track that takes riders on an adventure course demonstrating the off-road capabilities of the vehicle.
Don't have a license yet? That's OK. The Jeep Kids Course will be fitted with kid-sized Jeeps for the younger set, as well as a 25-foot climbing wall to entertain children while they wait in line.
Also on display at the Expo will be a showcase of high-end exotics from Ferrari and Maserati, as well as a Fisker display and a vintage Chevrolet Corvette Collection.
