Sam Penrod ReportingA plane searching Strawberry Reservoir for a missing Orem couple flipped upside down today while trying to land; and searchers located another body in Strawberry. This one has been in the reservoir a lot longer than the young couple, who've been missing for a week.
Chief Deputy Todd Bonner, Wasatch County Sheriff's Office:" They feel pretty comfortable it's been in there several years."
It is the second body searchers have found since they started searching for the couple.
Certainly another disappointing day for searchers trying to bring closure to the Roundy family, but some relief that another family may be able to find some peace, after several years of wondering what happened to their loved one.
Search crews recovered the body of a man, believed to have drowned in Strawberry Reservoir back in 1995. The remains were found in 80 feet of water by sonar equipment being used to search for Steve and Cathryn Roundy. It's the second body recovered this week, of someone missing in Strawberry for several years.
Chief Deputy Todd Bonner, Wasatch County Sheriff's Office:" We do have three more that we know of since 1995 that have not been accounted for, besides the Roundys."
There were some scary moments for searchers when a plane assisting in the search from the air flipped over while landing on a makeshift landing strip. The pilot walked away unhurt.
Chief Deputy Todd Bonner, Wasatch County Sheriff's Office: "He was going to make a quick landing and misjudged some snow that had drifted in. He had tested it, he's an excellent pilot and one of the wheels happened to catch some snow."
The search for the Roundys has been difficult as the weather has changed dramatically in the last week. There is now two feet of snow and the water is closer to icing over. Search teams say they are committed to search for the couple as long as the weather allows.
Chief Deputy Todd Bonner, Wasatch County Sheriff's Office: "Do I think we have time before it ices over? No, it may mean we come back in the spring and try something different."
Search teams will be back tomorrow and are hoping for a few more days of good weather so they can bring closure to the Roundy family.
