PLEASANT GROVE — Crews rescued a man and woman late Sunday night who became lost while hiking near Battle Creek Falls earlier in the day.
Search and rescue crew members used LifeFlight to get the pair off the mountain and to paramedics for evaluation, according to Utah County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Spencer Cannon.
The man and woman, believed to be in their 20s, had gone on a day hike at around noon. They later became lost, prompting concern and the search as temperatures dropped. Officials said the pair was at risk for hypothermia and frostbite.
LifeFlight dropped crew members near the hikers’ location so they could be fed and treated, Cannon said.
The hikers did not appear to have any injuries and were then flown off the mountain to paramedics as a precaution.
