SANDY — Several agencies, including Salt Lake County search and rescue crews, were looking for a man believed to haven fallen into the water near the Bells Canyon waterfall Sunday evening.

Friends of the 22-year-old man told police he fell into Bells Canyon Creek just below the first falls and hadn't resurfaced in more than 40 minutes, said Unified Police Lt. Brian Lohrke.

Sandy and Unified fire crews also responded to the canyon to assist. A helicopter from the Department of Public Safety was also requested, Lohrke said.

The search was set to begin again Monday morning.
