RIVERTON — An 18-year-old motorcyclist was hospitalized in extremely critical condition Sunday after T-boning a car that pulled out in front of him, police say.

The crash happened just after 11 a.m. on 13400 South near 2040 West. A motorcyclist was heading west when a vehicle pulled out in front of him to make a left turn and apparently didn't see the motorcycle, said Unified police detective Ken Hansen.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet. There were skid marks showing the motorcyclist attempted to brake before hitting the car, he said.

The crash comes less than 24 hours after Unified police responded to a fatal crash at 5400 South and 2700 West. Bobby Tupoumalohi, 20, of Kearns, was killed Saturday when he ran a red light, hit another vehicle, then hit a pole before his vehicle caught fire, according to police.

Those two incidents come on the heels of what has been a deadly week on Utah's roads.

• Also on Thursday, Joshua Robertson, 38, of Murray, was ejected from his vehicle and killed on I-15 near 500 East when his Chevrolet Monte Carlo hit another vehicle and a concrete barrier.

• Claire Benson, 47, of Pleasant Grove, was killed May 28 while riding a motorcycle when she failed to negotiate a turn and hit an oncoming vehicle head-on.
