MOAB — A man died Tuesday night in a BASE jumping accident along the Colorado River, police said.

Seth Graham, 34, of Moab, was BASE jumping from a 320-foot cliff above the Goose Island Recreation site along the Colorado River when the accident occurred, according to the Grand County Sheriff’s Office. Around 8:40 p.m., a person passing the area during a Canyonlands by Night boat tour witnessed the accident and notified the Grand County Sheriff’s Office.

Emergency responders and search and rescue teams responded to the scene and said Graham died as a result of injuries suffered in the accident. He was jumping alone at the time of the incident.

It was not immediately released what caused the accident.
