CASTLE VALLEY, Grand County — A Colorado man died after his motorcycle crashed in Grand County on Saturday.

Albert Hughes, 56, of Grand Junction, was riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle along state Route 128 near Castleton Road about 3:30 p.m. when the bike went off the right side of the road for unknown reasons, the Utah Highway Patrol reported.

Hughes was talking to witnesses when he collapsed, according to UHP.

Witnesses began CPR and a medical helicopter was dispatched, UHP said. Hughes was unresponsive when medical personnel arrived at 4:30 p.m. and was pronounced dead.

Hughes was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. UHP said he had a previous medical history that may have contributed to his death.
