GREEN RIVER, Wyo. — A woman who was allegedly running from the law out of Utah was taken into custody in Green River, Wyoming, officials said.
Kayla Briane Porreca, 26, is wanted by Salt Lake County authorities in connection with at least five different warrants for multiple charges such as aggravated assault, assault, driving on suspended license, driving without an interlock system, fail to stop for police, joyriding, hit-and-run, and driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, according to the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office.
“Earlier this week, detectives assigned to the Sheriff’s Narcotics and Arrest Group (SNAAG), a specialized unit of county detectives dedicated to drug enforcement and fugitive apprehension cases, developed information obtained from Salt Lake Unified Police Department’s Metro Gang Unit and tracked Porreca to a local business in Green River,” the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office reported.
In coordination with the Green River Police Department, SNAAG detectives and other sheriff’s deputies, police found Porreca during a sting operation late Wednesday evening and arrested her without incident, according to the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office.
“Porreca is being held without bond at Sweetwater County Detention Center awaiting extradition proceedings,” the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office reported.
