3 injured after metal object flies into crowd at Heber demolition derby

A flying metal rod hit and injured three people in attendance at a demolition derby on Saturday night.

“It was kind of chaotic because everyone just like rushed to us to see what happened,” said Liam Duke, who was hit by the metal rod. “I was just in so much shock. I didn't know I was hit until like three seconds later."

Firefighters rescue 4-year-old boy trapped in safe at Riverdale sporting goods store

A 4-year-old boy trapped for 15 minutes in a gun safe at a sporting goods store was in good condition Sunday after he was released by firefighters.

The boy reportedly opened the unlocked gun safe, entered it and was shut inside.

Wyoming wildfire destroys eight structures near Utah border

A 1,252-acre wildfire has destroyed eight structures and is burning mostly on private lands 15 miles south of this Wyoming town near the Utah border, fire officials said.

Family rallies support for Utah man jailed in Venezuela

Friends and family of a Utah man who is being held in a Venezuelan jail say it is a case of him being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"He's someone who always stood up for what is truly right, and for something like this to happen to someone like that is really hard to bear," friend Quynn Allsup said during a rally Saturday at the state Capitol.e.

15-year-old boy critically injured after falling off ATV

A 15-year-old boy is in critical condition after being thrown off his ATV Saturday morning, police said.

Montreal retires BYU wide receiver coach Cahoon's CFL jersey number

BYU wide receivers coach Ben Cahoon finished his 13-year career in the Canadian Football League as the all-time receptions leader, making his No. 86 iconic in Montreal Alouettes lore.

Now no future Montreal player will ever wear that jersey.

With crowds chanting Cahoon’s name Friday, the Alouettes retired the CFL Hall of Famer’s jersey at halftime of the team’s 41-3 win over Saskatchewan, joining former Utah State standout Anthony Calvillo.
