HUNTSVILLE, Weber County — A FedEx driver was charged Thursday with crashing his delivery van while driving drunk earlier this week.
Curtis Ronald Puzey, 26, of Kaysville, was charged in Roy Justice Court with DUI, a class B misdemeanor, and driving with an open container or drinking alcohol in a vehicle, a class C misdemeanor.
A resident reported seeing a FedEx van driving recklessly near 700 North and 7800 East in Huntsville about 11 a.m. Tuesday, investigators said.
Deputies found the van rolled onto its side in a ditch. Puzey underwent a field sobriety test and recorded a blood-alcohol content of .25, more than three times the legal limit of .08, according to Weber County Sheriff's Lt. Lane Findlay.
Deputies discovered a Powerade bottle filled with vodka inside the FedEx van, Findlay said. Puzey was sitting on the side of the road by the van when police arrived and he was not injured in the crash.
FedEx could not be immediately reached for comment about the incident.
