WENDOVER — A vehicle that was either stalled or moving slowly on I-80 was rear-ended by a semitrailer early Friday, killing a Spanish Fork man in the rear passenger seat.
Just after 5 a.m., a 2006 Dodge Neon was hit by a Peterbilt semi pulling two trailers and traveling approximately 65 mph, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
"The semi driver did not see the Neon until it was too late and impacted the rear of the Neon. The Neon was forced off the right side of the road," according to a statement from the UHP.
Andy W. Lew, 38, of Spanish Fork, was killed. Two women, ages 35 and 34, were seriously injured. Both were flown by medical helicopters to local hospitals.
