3-year-old boy dies after being hit by car in Draper

A 3-year-old boy died Saturday evening after he reportedly ran into the road and was hit by a car.

Police say the boy was with his family visiting other family members in Draper after a baptism. About 7:30 p.m., as the family was walking to their vehicle, the boy ran into the road and was struck by an SUV near 11688 S. 700 West.

Beaver woman found shot to death, boyfriend arrested

A woman was found shot to death and her live-in boyfriend arrested here Saturday.

Beaver County Sheriff Cameron Noel said that the death may have been the result of an attempted murder-suicide.

Trail ride honors Utah's fallen officers

There's nothing like a bagpipe at a memorial service.

On Saturday, a memorial service was held for Utah law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty, as the 4th annual Fallen Peace Officer Trail Ride was held.

"The fact that they're still doing these types of events and still honoring him after seven years, it means a lot," said Katy Skinner. Her husband, Charles, died working with the North Salt Lake Police Department.

5 Utah water systems report high lead level in tap water ========================================================

Five Utah water systems registered a water sample that came back with lead levels over the federal threshold at least once since the start of 2013, according to an analysis of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency data by The Associated Press.

‘Dolly Parton’ reappears at Wheeler Farm ========================================

A Flemish giant rabbit stolen from Wheeler Historic Farm earlier this week is back home.

“Ms. Dolly Parton has been returned," Raegan Scharman, the farm's program coordinator, happily announced Sunday morning.

Real Salt Lake announce plans to build $50 million training complex in Herriman ===============================================================================

Real Salt Lake and Herriman Mayor Carmen Freeman unveiled plans to build a $50 million soccer training complex, the Major League Soccer club announced on Saturday.

RSL and the city of Herriman plan to break ground on the 42-acre plot later this month.

No. 1 BYU sweeps USC on senior night to clinch MPSF regular-season title ========================================================================

With head coach Shawn Olmstead trying to play as many upperclassmen as possible, senior Carson Heninger delivered the match-winning kill to give No. 1-ranked BYU a 25-16, 25-12, 25-17 sweep of Southern California and clinch its third Mountain Pacific Sports Federation regular-season title in four years.

Price Jarman led BYU with seven kills and six blocks, and Ben Patch added seven kills and two blocks for the Cougars, who enter next week’s MPSF tournament as the top overall seed. Leo Durkin had 22 assists and five digs, and Robbie Sutton supplied six assists, two digs and a block on Senior Night.

Lone Peak's Jackson highlights KSL boys' hoops MVPs ===================================================

The state of Utah had quite the year in high school basketball in 2015-16.

Whether it was a first state title for Olympus in Class 4A, or the return of Bingham to the top spot in 5A, the boys basketball season was filled with plenty of highs — and that’s not even mentioning Lone Peak’s Frank Jackson in his McDonald’s All-American nod, the first for a Utah prepster since 2000.

Layton's Bassett leads way in KSL girls hoops honorees ======================================================

In girls hoops, Layton capped off an undefeated season with wins over Copper Hills and Sky View in the 5A state tournament, while Bountiful’s Kennedy Redding led the Braves to the 4A championship with a dominant showing of their own.

Aggies cap spring camp with scrimmage =====================================

The Aggies wrapped up spring football practices Saturday afternoon in Logan in the Blue team’s 75-73 win over the White team on the final play of the game.

Kennedy Williams’ two-point conversion on a reverse from quarterback Jordan Love gave the Blue team just enough to earn the victory over the defense-heavy White team.
