OREM, Utah (AP) — Konner Frey scored 14 points and Marcel Davis sank the winning bucket to lift Utah Valley to a 74-72 win over Chicago State on Thursday night.

Tied at 72 with 30 seconds left, Davis got a defensive rebound and then dropped in the winning layup just ahead of the buzzer. He finished with 12 points, nine rebounds and eight assists as Utah Valley (11-15, 5-6 Western Athletic Conference) shot 43 percent from the field and got 13 of 23 from the free-throw line to Chicago State's 5 for 6.

Ivory Young also had 12 points for the Wolverines and Jaden Jackson added 11.

Trailing by 11 points in the second half, Chicago State (4-24, 0-11) tied it up twice in the final five minutes.

Fred Sims Jr. led Chicago State with 18 points. Clemmye Owens V added 17 and Anthony Eaves had 14 for the Cougars, who have lost 15 straight.
