SALT LAKE CITY — Occupational Safety and Health Administration officials are investigating after a man was found dead between a forklift and a large container Monday morning.
The body of Fred Hannert, 50, was discovered around 10:45 a.m. at Adler Tank Rentals at 621 S. Fulton St., according to Salt Lake City police detective Greg Wilking. Adler Tank Rentals provides tanks and steel boxes for hazardous and non-hazardous liquid and solid storage, according to the company website.
Hannert was located lying between a forklift and a large container in the industrial yard, Wilking said. Police said the last contact someone at the business had with Hannert was approximately 7:30 a.m.
Police are considering the fatality an industrial accident and OSHA officials are taking over the investigation. Details about the cause of the accident weren't immediately available, but police didn't consider the death suspicious, Wilking said.
The Utah Medical Examiner's Office will determine a cause of death.
More information will be posted as it becomes available.
