WEST VALLEY CITY — Two men are in the hospital after a fight in West Valley involving knives and multiple stabbings, police said.

Early Saturday morning, officers arrived at the scene of a reported fight at 6423 S. High Bluff Dr. in West Valley City, according to Lt. Mike Christenson of West Valley City Police. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers found knives and multiple locations with a large amount of blood on the street, Christenson said.

After investigation, officers determined that a fight had taken place between two men, both in their early twenties, according to Christenson. Both men had wielded knives, with one man suffering a single stabbing wound and the other suffering multiple stabbing wounds, Christenson said.

Both men were transported to the hospital following the incident. The man with multiple wounds was in critical but stable condition, while the man with a single wound was in serious but stable condition, according to Christenson.

Police have not yet identified either of the men involved in the incident. According to Christenson, investigators are still working to determine whether the fight was gang-related. This type of activity is unusual for this neighborhood, Christenson said.

More information will be released as it becomes available.
