SALT LAKE CITY - Welcome to today's From Left Field! Here are some new and interesting highlights from the world of sports you may not have seen.

What it's like to be a target at an archery course

Archery is kind of cool. In college, my roommates and I somehow acquired a bow and arrow set, then used it in our driveway to shoot arrows at a foam target that we placed against the garage door. That target was not sufficient, however, to prevent the arrow from travelling through the foam and puncturing the garage door. Ah, responsibility.

Anyway, this video shows what it's like to be at the other end of an archery course as seen through a camera placed in the bullseye of a target. It's one of the most low-key stressful videos I've ever watched.

Gatorade trauma

Oh, no. Gatorade showers are a time-honored tradition in sports, and one Texas high school district champion, Alba-Golden, just wanted to celebrate, too. That's when this happened.

Well, getting your coach all sticky and drenched in Gatorade is just a good time, but knocking him out is another matter. We encourage all future celebrators to hold on to their Gatorade buckets.

Must-see behind-the-back fake field goal

The most ill-conceived trick play I've ever seen that actually worked occurred this past Saturday in Division 3 action, as Carleton College was not actually fooled by this incredible fake-point-after attempt by the University of St. Thomas. Watch:

Isn't that the hardest possible way to get two points? If you had practiced the no-look pass for weeks, wouldn't you want to use it to get a touchdown, not just two points?

But, it is a pretty cool play.

Steph Curry's out here practicing 35 footers

The game has changed. Steph Curry, unsatisfied with making his regular assortment of crazy shots from within 5 feet of the three point line, is now practicing 35 foot shots.

So, you know, just another step (or Steph) as the Warriors finish 82-0 this season.
