PROVO — Most people wish for an Apple Watch, a new set of irons or that the Halloween candy you steal from your kids was not purchased from the clearance bin. My wish is that all interviews can be like the ones with BYU wide receivers.
My favorite wide re-diva this week is Nick Kurtz, although he may not hold that trophy long if Terenn Houk and Mitch Mathews have anything to say about it.
Kurtz is one-third of BYU's giant triplets. He's the short one, measuring 6-foot-5. Houk is also 6-5, but he's a senior, so Kurtz loses the tiebreaker. Mathews towers over both of them at 6-6.
For what Kurtz lacks in height, he makes up for in charisma.
This week on "Cougar Sports Saturday" with myself and Alex Kirry, Kurtz lowered the facade of football solemnity and had some fun about the success that freshman quarterback Tanner Mangum is enjoying just a few short months after returning from his LDS mission in Chile.

"Must have served a good mission, got a lot of converts. He's got God paying him back and taking care of all of us," Kurtz joked.
Kurtz is not a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, so Kirry told him that usually well-served missions result in guys getting good-looking wives, not amazing football careers.
"I think he's going to get both. He's getting some action around here," Kurtz confided.
