MURRAY — Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man with a criminal history who was found at a house under construction Saturday.
A passing bicyclist heard Fred C. Mustain Jr., crying for help at 527 E. Vine St. about 9:20 p.m., said Murray police spokesman Kenny Bass. Mustain was shot multiple times in the chest, Bass said.
An ambulance transported Mustain, 38, to Intermountain Medical Center where he died about 1 a.m. Sunday, police said.
Bass said police don't have any suspects.
"Right now there's just not a lot investigators have to go on," he said.
A search of Utah court records shows Mustain spent time in prison for aggravated robbery and drug possession. Earlier this year, he was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, drug possession and reckless driving.
