Police seek to ID men who stole AC units from bank

SALT LAKE CITY — Police asked for help Wednesday to identify two men who were caught on camera loading outdoor air conditioning units from a bank into a trailer.

The two air conditioning units were stolen from the U.S. Bank located at 1375 S. Foothill Drive on Aug. 3 between 11 and 11:40 a.m., according to the Salt Lake City Police Department. Investigators said the air conditioning units, which are valued at $10,000, were hauled away by a bronze Land Rover or Range Rover. A single-axel trailer with wooden sides was attached to the vehicle.

The two men were described by investigators as being white. Police said one man was of a thin build, wearing jeans, a dark t-shirt and a dark baseball cap. The other man is of a medium build and was wearing dark shorts, a white t-shirt and a backwards dark baseball cap.

Security footage of the theft was posted to YouTube Wednesday. Anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the two men can contact the Salt Lake City Police Department by calling 801-799-3000 or sending a text to 274637 with the keyword TIPSLCPD followed by any relevant information. The case reference is #15-144014.
