MOUNT NEBO, Juab County — Search and rescue crews rescued four people stranded on Mount Nebo early Tuesday morning.

Two hikers and two hunters were both stranded overnight, officials reported. One of the male teenaged hikers was injured and could not hike further. Juab County Sheriff's Office said the two were stuck on the ridge between the middle and north peaks of Mount Nebo.

Officials dropped a care package from a Department of Public Safety Air Bureau helicopter to the hikers and said it would hold them over until crews could reach them. Crews headed out at first light by helicopter and were able to reach the teens, who were then flown to Central Valley Medical Center in Nephi. Both were in good condition.

While working to aid the stranded hikers, another call came in for help in the area for the two stranded hunters. The hunters were stuck on a ledge and lit two flares near the Nebo Creek drainage to notify officials of their location. Crews were dropped within a mile of them and worked to reach the hunters to get them off the cliff and down to the Nebo Creek Road where rescuers awaited.
