ERDA, Tooele County — This past week, the Erda Airport had some special visitors when veterans from Tooele County assembled to take a flight in a historic 1940s Boeing Stearman Biplane.
The Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation honored former military members by giving them the opportunity of a lifetime.
Darryl Fisher, Ageless Aviation pilot, said, "Our mission is giving back to those who have given."
As further explanation of the program, Fisher said, "We give flights to veterans and seniors, primarily who live in long-term care communities, free of charge all over the U.S."
Keith Scoville, a veteran, said he was concerned initially, but when he got up there, it was a pleasant experience.
"This generation and the folks we're honoring today, they are the reason they were willing to sacrifice," Fisher said.
Farrell Parks, a veteran of the Korean War, also got a ride from Ageless Aviation. He said, "As an individual, when else are you going to have an experience like this?"
The Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring veterans.
Donations allow the organization to stay in operation.
